Sovereign Kava is North Carolina's first and best Kava Bar.

 

We serve Traditional Kava, made by hand just the way it's been made in the South Pacific ceremonially for centuries. We also serve Mitra tea (several varieties), kava cocktails, CBD edibles and tinctures, Buchi Kombucha, and much more.

 

Sovereign Kava is a relaxing social environment where people from all walks of life are welcome to come, chill out and catch a natural buzz. Come help us do our part to keep Asheville weird (and fun). Have no idea what any of this stuff is? That's OK, our world-class kava-tenders will be happy to explain.

Every Tuesday (7 p.m.) is our Open Jam. Come sign up to get rotated into the band on your instrument (no need to bring amp).

Don't miss "Poetry Open Mic Asheville," Asheville's longest-running (and, ahem, best, literally award-winning) open mic every Wednesday evening. Sign-ups are at 7:30 p.m. Original songs and all forms of artistic expression are welcome.

Be sure to check out our Ping-Pong Lounge, and prepare yourself to get smoked in our weekly tournament (every Monday, 7 p.m.).

There is live music every Friday and Saturday night, and some Thursdays and Sundays (never a cover at the door. 18+).

We are located at 268 Biltmore Ave., halfway up the hill between McCormick Field and Mission Hospital. Parking includes our lot during business hours, Rival Construction next door, and Smile Starters after 5pm.  Please do NOT park in The Fireplace Store next door, or Minnie Jones clinic across the street. You will get towed by those properties.
