Open Jam
Every Tuesday at 8pm/7:30 Sign Up
This is a weekly opportunity for experienced musicians to get together, talk, and share ideas in a living room-like setting. No alcohol is served, but players are invited to try kava at the two-fer-one rate. Sign up at 7:30 PM for a slot. Jam starts at 8pm. Watch at home by visiting our YouTube or Facebook page!We provide full backline--drum kit, amps, piano, keys, and PA with mics/inputs. The jam is hosted by Kavalactones who play for the first half hour or so, and then the jam opens up.
Sign up when you get here! Things here, are on a first come, first serve basis. We do recommend bringing your own instrument (guitar, bass, musical saw, etc.), unless you play keys, or sticks if you play kit.
Weekly Ping Pong Tournament
Mondays at 6pm
Winner recieves $50 Bar Tab
Asheville's best ping-pong players join up at Sovereign Kava every Monday at 6 p.m. to battle for glory and a $50 bar tab. No entry fee required, however, you will be ask to buy a drink upon entering the building. Whether you learned to play in the basement as a kid, or as an older adult, this is the tournament for you. Located just down the hill on the Asheville-side of Mission Hospital, we are convenient walking distance to medical help after you get your heart broken on our Butterfly table. Bring your paddle or borrow one of ours. Open to all skill levels and beginners are welcome. Our table-tennis table is available for open play 7 days a week, noon to 11 p.m., unless there's a music event/tournament taking place.
